Capt. Dan Smith grew up running the Taunton River and upper Narragansett Bay with his family. When he earned his 100 Ton Captains License in 2018 Capt. Dan decided to get into guiding. For the first 3 years it was for another charter service in Rhode Island and Buzzard's Bay Massachusetts. Now Capt. Dan has decided to go for the Ultimate Gamble and go out on his own.
Capt. Dan has a unique style of fishing and loves to teach people. We specialize in bottom fish species like Tautog (Blackfish), Black Sea Bass, Fluke, and Scup (Porgy). He brings high energy onto every trip and always strives for success. His favorite species to target are Tautog and Sea Bass. While our goal is to send you home with memories that will last a lifetime and fish for dinner, we want to point out it is also our job to preserve and teach about our amazing fisheries. Capt. Dan spends much of his off-season free time reading catch reports from his own logs as well as other captains. He is involved with the fisheries meetings as well and he attends as many as he can.
